All about Hurricanes

Q:   Ask a Question about All about Hurricanes
All about Hurricanes Man has made huge advancements in the field of science since last several years. We've conquered the moon and the depth of deepest ocean. These advancements sometimes make us wonder whether we've become as strong as nature.

But nature has certain powers with itself and when such time comes it shows that however strong we become we are nothing in comparison to it. Out of all such powers hurricanes is one of them. We all stand helpless to the power and strength of hurricanes. They are at their will and no one can stop those furiously swirling windstorms.

Recently USA has experienced lot of such hurricanes in past few years. They have caused destruction worth millions. This has led to think, what is it that makes a hurricane come into existence and what is it that gives it this much i mmense strength? Well, the answer is here.

When there a water body with warm or mild water with temperature at least 80 degrees Fahrenheit, with a depth of 150 ft or more, and a low pressure region is created without any disturbance from wind and just cool, moist air blowing above it, the Coriolis force produced by the earth leads that water body to take a form of a hurricane. There are other factors as well but these are the major contributors.

These thunderstorms gain strength over time and become full fledge hurricanes. The warm air with water rises and causes a low pressure area and this causes the wind to blow in the opposite direction, and this starts the circular motion.

Slowly and steadily they gain so much momentum that the speed of the rotating wind reaches about 150 to 200 miles per hour. Can there be anything more lethal than that? The formation of a hurricane is a very complex process and might take some hours or might even take a few days, meanwhile it might gain strength or it might even loose strength due to feeding of warm air in the whirlpool.

It keeps on moving on the ocean where normally it gets formed and sometimes the wind directions might also direct it inwards in land.

There is a full study which can be done on how hurricanes they are formed and how they function? This article just gives the information in a nutshell.
