Australia has produced some of the most famous actors who made us cry , laugh, and also made us fall in love with them and still continue to do so, let’s talk about a few of them here.

Russell Crowe: One of my favourite actors and an outstanding performer, he has been nominated thrice for the Oscars. He was born on 7th April 1968 in New Zealand but when he was just 4 years old his parents moved to Australia. He joined National Institute of Dramatic Art in Australia and starred in many TV serials. In 1992, he was noticed for his performance in the movie, Romper Stomper in Australia. After this he went on to Hollywood to test his luck and the rest his history. He is nominated for Oscars for his work in A Beautiful Mi nd, The Gladiator, and The Insider. He also has films like LA Confidential, American Gangster to his credit.

Cate Blanchett: We all know her for her performance in the movie Babel. She was born in Melbourne on 14th may 1969. After her graduation from National Institute of Dramatic Arts she pursued her career in Theatre and drama overseas. She appeared in a lot of plays after which she was offered Elizabeth for which she grabbed the Academy Award. And then the journey continued. She is today a successful actress from Australia having films like Babel, The Aviator, Elizabeth I to her credit and the list is countless.

Mel Gibson: This drop dead gorgeous actor from Australia was born in NY but has an Australian Background as his mother hailed from Australia. He moved to New South Wales with his family and joined the National Institute of Dramatic Arts in Melbourne and then went on to become big star. He got noticed for his film BraveHeart in 1995, which grabbed him an Oscar.

Heath Ledger: Heath Andrew Ledger was born on April 4th 1979 in Perth, Australia. After his roles in Australia, to try his luck in 1990s he moved to USA. He acted in films like, 10 things I hate about you, Candy, The Patriot, and The Dark Knight. He was found dead because of his medicine over dose which he was prescribed for his film The Dark Knight for his role of the Joker. He won The Prostehmus Award for his role of joker after his death in 2008.
