Avril Lavigne Can't Be Wrong. Part I

Q:   Ask a Question about Avril Lavigne Can't Be Wrong. Part I
Avril Lavigne says that she is writing her own songs. After her huge success, we can't say otherwise. If Avril Lavigne says something, than most probably she is right. We all know her unique style. She is the "problematic" and "rebel" teenager. If she wants to be at 3:00AM in a bar drinking tequila and beer, can anyone stop her?
After that, she heads to the Grammys, where she has been nominated for no less than 5 awards in categories that include Best New Artist and Song of the Year. Avril Lavigne says: "It would be cool to win one," she says. "But even if I don't win, it's fine. I can still walk around the rest of my life, like, 'Once, I got nominated for a Grammy". This is a pretty cool attitude. Let's not forget that there are "stars" that actually win a Grammy but they are not even bothering to come and take the trophy. Most of them are involving various reasons. But who cares? A Grammy award is important no matter what and even with the busiest possible agenda, it should be time to come and pick up such a trophy.

However, let's get back to Avril Lavigne. On March 3rd, it started the event she's been waiting a lifetime for: her first real tour. "My dream was always to hop up onstage in front of my fans every night and perform," she says. "That's what all of this was supposed to be about."

It is a known fact that not every artist has the chance and the opportunity to play arenas on his first headlining tour. Since "Complicated" single hit the airwaves, the young pop-rock singer who is anything but "teen pop" has experienced an outstanding success. Her debut album, Let Go sold in over 4 million copies worldwide. "You can't really predict when an artist is going to become a teen icon," says L.A. Reid, president of Avril Lavigne's label, Arista Records.

In a short period of time, Avril Lavigne became n icon, who wears baggy pants, plastic bracelets and a scowl. She is different from pop stars like Britney Spears or "pre-dirty" stars like Aguillera. Avril Lavigne is an icon who sings about crushes on skater boys. She always loves to listen bands like Blink-182. Avril Lavigne is an icon who had some help writing the songs from Let Go but at least not from the Swedish hit makers who write Backstreet Boys songs, or from the Neptunes, who write everything else.
