Can Toursim Have Positive Effects ?

The main function of this branch of economy is to make people happier, to make their holidays more exciting and more interesting. We all want a luxurious hotel, clean beaches, natural spas, everything that makes us feel as if we were walking on clouds.

Tourism means entertainment, relaxation, freedom, money and comfort. More money spent on the part of the consumer is more money for the country's economy and its development.

One of the ways in which a country gains a world-wide name is by tourism. If foreigners come to Romania and they like what they find here, when they go back to their countries they will let the others know what they have found here, so the number of visitors grows each year.

Tourism is equal to advertisment and publicity. The more you know about a place the more you want to see it and discover its beauties.

On the other hand tourism has also negative effects on the environment as woods are being cut down to build hotels, waters are polluted by tourists, the ecological system has to suffer due to progress and techology.

Still, more and more ecological organisations fight for the protection of the environment and hotel managers try not to damage anything with their business.

For me tourism means beauty, excitement, attractions and mystery. If everything is made with common sense then everybody will be happy and nobody will lose.
