The tenth sign in the zodiac, and whose constellation is known as capricornus is one of the oldest astrological interpretations. Although the Capricorn has a sense of duty to themselves and others they do not like laziness and lack of ambition in others.Capricorn is ruled by the planet of Saturn, with a negative nature they have a cardinal quality. Their gemstone is the Amethyst with colors of Black, Dark Brown and Gray and the Goat is their animal.
Mythology :
Capricorn was associated with the goat from the ancient Babylonian times. The horned god of Pan, from the Greeks relates the hybrid goat-fish to the encounter between Pan a Typhon, where Pan transformed its lower half into a fish to get away from Typhon. The time of Capricorn was linked to water, or the rainy season by the Egyptians and Chinese. Following Capricorn is Aries – the water bearer and then Pisces – the fish immersed in water.
The Capricorn in terms of positive traits is seen as practical, disciplined, patient, reserved and humorous, whereas on the negative side they are seen as pessimistic, grudging and miserly. Compatibility for the Capricorn is with Taurus, Virgo, Scorpio and Pisces. Incompatible signs are Aquarius, Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra and Sagittarius; and the variable signs are Capricorn and Cancer.
Being one of the most stable and serious of signs, they remain independent, rocklike characters. They are hardworking, unemotional, shrewd, responsible and are capable of persisting for as long as necessary to accomplish a goal they have set for themselves. This makes them reliable workers in almost any profession they undertake, which highlights there intrinsic loyalty. A typical Capricorns likes include professionalism purpose and reliability, whereas they dislike fantasies, ridicule and wild schemes.
Capricorn rules the knees, bones and skin so special attention needs to be exercised in these areas, especially with reference to possible fractures and strains of the knees and skin ailments and disease.
