Just as money does not bring happiness clothes do not make the man... or so it is what they say...but my opinion is that clothes do make the man. For me the first impression is the one that counts and makes the difference.
If you go to a job interview and you are not properly dressed you do not get the job, even if you are qualified for it. If you go to a party and the choice you made for the out-fit is not the best, you won't be noticed or worse you'll be the subject of the night's gossip. If you go on a first date and your partener comes dressed as if he were going jogging I'm sure you won't answer his calls the next day.
And the list with examples may go on and on. We all want to claim that the society we live in is not ruled by stereotypes and prejudices
but so it is and we shouldn't be so hypocrite and say the contrary.
I don't say that clothes are the most important when you meet a person, but before you have the chance to talk to him, to see how he thinks, you notice the clothes and you know whether you like him or not.
On the contrary, tastes in what concerns clothes should not be the same, as we didn't like uniforms at school so we won't like to see them on the streets, but we all should be tidy, clean, trendy and at least try to be fashionable. I say "try" because fashion changes every day and one should always wear what suits him not what is in "vogue" today.
Clothes should no be given so much importance today but they are and if we don't want to feel left out we should stay in touch with the latest news in the domain. It's better to know more than to know nothing
