CUBRID-an amazing Open Source project

Q:   Ask a Question about CUBRID-an amazing Open Source project
CUBRID-an amazing Open Source project An Open Source project is an interesting way of software development. Unlike a normal development process, the Open Source system is more focused on clients and potential users. Everyone can bring ideas, suggestions and even can contribute to the base code development.

The bottom line is that an Open Source project can be more user friendly than any other software, because people can actually get involved in its development. The good ideas are gathered and if possible, implemented into the application.

CUBRID is based on the same system. CUBRID is an object-relational Database Management System which allows you to store and manage data in multi-threaded client/server architecture. Sounds complicate but itís not. In fact, CUBRID works as a common database. Also, there are some diffe rences. For instance, CUBRID is surprisingly fast and extremely user friendly. Itís interface was designed to provide a high speed and an intuitive working environment.

Many potential users are asking themselves why is CUBRID free? Why such a solid database management system is free when almost any other similar application costs a small fortune. The Open Source development system is the key here. Because people can contribute to CUBRID development, the development costs are significant lower.

Is CUBRID the best database management system for multi-threaded client/ server architecture? Maybe not, but itís definitely in top 10 due to its amazing speed, its security, stability and highly intuitive interface.
