Demigod is more than an interesting game. The Gas Powered Games came up with a decent story for this game. The "All Father" left the world and his creations (demigods) are fighting for "All Father" throne. The one that wins this war is going to become a full god and rule over the entire world.
There are two types of demigods: Assassins and Generals. Assassins can do and take a huge amount of damage. On the other hand, Generals can call special troops (minions) to help him. These minions came with different skills (damage reflection, damage absorption, increase damage done etc). When a game starts, the player can choose from eight demigods, each with his own strengths and weaknesses. Developers did an extremely good job in balancing these eight demigods so no single unit has the advanta
ge in any given match. Some are big, heavy with a huge amount of HP but extremely slow. Others can do a massive damage from distance but they have very little HP.
Demigod lacks of a Tutorial mode and many players are complaining about that. Demigod brings only two playing modules: single player and multiplayer. In single player, the user can play some skirmish games or tournament mode. Since there is no Tutorial section, single player module can be used as a tutorial for multiplayer. The multiplayer module comes with two options: local area network (LAN) or internet, both with exactly the same options. Here the player can choose from custom game (same as skirmish mode from single player) or Pantheon (players can choose the Light or Dark side and compete for favor points).
A great thing about Demigod is the producer's involvement in online gaming. They are playing among games in order to ensure the best gaming experience. In the same time, they are promising new arenas and new demigods to choose from. This is a great thing when you see developers trying to imbue the game to ensure a long time of online experience.
The game is well done, players can forget sometimes that is a life and death battle going on and will stop to admire the graphical effects (poison clouds, explosions, spells etc). The sound is also very good with a large variety of songs. All are well chosen and well implemented into Demigod atmosphere.
Demigod Collector's Edition comes with some additional features that will make a Demigod fan very happy. First is a poster with Rook that can be placed on any wall to display the love and appreciation for a demigod. Another item is a small Rook figurine, extremely detailed and can be placed anywhere as well. On last thing is a soundtrack from Demigod that will allow its fans to listen the wonderful music of this game anywhere. Overall, this Collector's Edition is well wording those extra 10$.
