I have always wanted to have a pet at home but my parents don't agree with this, because they say that they don't want cats or dogs in our flat. I like dogs a lot, especially big ones. But my parents consider that a big dog does not have the space it needs in a flat and it is better to have one if you live in a large house with a big yard, too.
But even if I don't have a dog at home, I consider myself an animal lover. I do have one in the countryside and each time I go there I take a lot of food for my dog. I like to play with her, to talk to her while touching her smooth, black fur. She is so cute when somebody spoils her, because animals are very sensible as people are, and they, too, need affection.
I can't stand people who treat animals really bad, because
they have no right to do it. It is said that dogs are man's best friend as they are very intelligent and they would help their master each time the latter needed a helping hand. And I do agree with this because dogs show great love to the persons around if these also show them affection. Still, there are people who kill or beat animals and they seem to have no heart at all. I don't understand why they are so cruel because I believe animals suffer as we do and need our protection and attention.
Moreover, I enjoy going to the zoo and feeding the animals there. I feel pity for some of them because it is obvious they don’t feel at ease in captivity and that they need a larger place to live in. We can take as an example here the bear, which has to live in quite a small space and which doesn’t have the freedom of movement it would have had in the woods.
To conclude, I advise people to be more careful with the animals around them, because, in my opinion, animals have souls as we have and need our protection and affection.
