I have always liked history. I remember that during my years at school I was always excited by the History lessons to come, because it was a real pleasure for me to find out new things about our past, even if the majority of my colleagues hated History and could not understand how I could like it so much. They felt horrified when we had test-papers in History because it was a lot to learn and especially many years to learn by heart.
But I was quite lucky, as I have always been good at remembering numbers and dates. Still, this is not the reason for which I like history so much, but because I have always felt curiosity about our country's past and the one of other countries, too. I liked to find out what kind of people rules us before, how generations have changed
with the passing of years, how hard was destiny for some civilizations, how countries developed or how difficult life was during wars.
These are only some reasons for which I like history. Therefore, I enjoy reading historical stories, too because they are inspired from the real historical events which took place in the past. However, there is a negative aspect which historical stories can sometimes give to the reader: they can deform reality as it was and offer us a different and wrong image of how things happened. This is just a mere fact of making fiction, and historical stories can be fiction, too, because they can represent literature. But the people, who have knowledge in this domain, are able to make the difference between the real facts and fiction.
All in all, I love reading historical stories and books based on historical facts, because it’s like a kind of hobby for me to find out more about our past, to understand how some countries could develop and others no, who were the most important historical figures in the past, which was their influence in the political or social life of people those days or about the mysteries of our planet, like the one of the pyramids.
