Usain Bolt was born on 21st August, 1986. Usain Bolt was born in the Sherwood content. It is a small town in Trelawny in Jamaica. Usain bolt was raised by his parents Jennifer and Wellesley Bolt. He grew up with brother Sadeeki and his sister Sherine. Bolt’s parents earned their living by running a grocery store in the rural area.

Bolt spent most of his time in playing cricket and football with his brother, Sadeeki in the street. Later in his life, while giving an interview, he said that when he was young, he did not think about anything except sports.

In his childhood, Bolt attended the Waldensia Primary and later an All-age school. His running potential was first displayed in these schools when he started running in the annual national primary- schools’ meeting. Soon at about the age of 12, Bolt became the fastest runner in the school for the 100 meters distance.

When Usain Bolt entered William Knibb Memorial High School, Bolt became increasingly interested in Sports. His cricket coach was concerned about his sport activities and was the first person to notice Bolts speed. He noticed Bolt running on the pitch and advised him to try his luck on running and track events.

Bolt got his coaching from Pablo McNeil, a former 100 meters Olympic athlete and Dwayne Barrett. Pablo helped Bolt to focus all his energy on running on track. This helped him a lot to improve his running and thereby his athletic abilities.

His school has a great reputation for its history of athletic success. His school had produced some of the best runners in the country with past students, including sprinter Michael Green. In 2001, Bolt won his first annual High School Championships medal.

He won a silver medal in the 200 meters.

McNeil soon became his personal coach and started training him. They both shared a positive partnership; however McNeil used to get angry on Bolt for his lack of dedication towards his training.

In 2001 Crafita games, Bolt a chance to represent Jamaica for the first time. He finished 3rd in 200 m race and also won a silver medal.
