Egypt, Nile's Gift

Egypt, Nile's Giftby Cristina Nuta -

It seems that in Europe we don't enjoy the same winters, with a lot of snow, with low temperatures and sport winter games which make our adrenaline become higher, as we used to in the past. And then, what can be more exciting than spending a mini-holiday at the seaside in the middle of winter? Egypt, 'Nile's gift' as Herodotus named it, is one of the options we could choose as it combines perfectly the past with the present.

This country offers the traveller new customs, traditions, a new world, another culture, another language and also new chromatics. The first thing one will notice when arriving there will be a sultry sun, doubled by a cold and a dry wind, the strangest combination nature can offer us once we enter this special ‘world’. It also seems that time itself passes in a strange way, having a new rhythm, never a stable one.

Egypt is the most populated country of Africa, with almost seventy-four million people, the majority living along the Nile. In what concerns the religion of this country, we have to say that 90% are of Islamic belief and the rest are Christians.

As a tourist, one will see how coaches go on trips one behind the other, always accompanied by a police car, in order to offer protection to the tourists. Then, when accommodating to a hotel, the visitor will see for example hotels in the form of huge sand castles, with large terraces where many relaxed people are enjoying themselves. But when visiting Egypt one should also go on a cruise along the Nile, the treasure of this country.

One of the most visited parts in Egypt is Hurghada. It is a veritable resort, which had been a little fishing village in the past. Now the eye of the tourist can be enchanted by the plenty of Arabic bars, different means of entertainment, both expensive and cheap hotels, each one having swimming-pools and also many commercial centers where one can find the best brands.

The majority of the inhabitants work in tourism and the number of the population grows three times in the periods when tourists come here. Placed on the shore of the Red Sea, Hurghada is a famous centre for the aquatic sports. Then, another interesting aspect the resort offers is its bars, covered with colourful materials and with little tables and crowded chairs. The smell of the sea, cherries and melon can be easily noticed while staying on the terrace. And then, the only drinks which people use to drink in these of bars are melon and mango juice, and the Turkish coffee made in the sand.

Finally, if one wants to feel Europe closer, he can choose one of the restaurants with European specific, listen to European music and drink the well-known beer.
