Eminem's work on Relapse

Q:   Ask a Question about Eminem's work on Relapse
In December 2008, Eminem announced another major album release. Announcement was just restricted to the name of the album “Relapse”. And on March 2009, he gave more detailed news by saying that in the year of 2009 he would release two new albums.

May 19, the day when his words finally came into the action. His first album “Relapse” was released while “We made you”, the first official single and its music video, were released on April 7. On October 3, 2009 he made an appearance at shade 45 with DJ Whoo Kid and at the same time he also announced that Denaun Porter and Just Blaze were very busy working on the next project “Relapse 2”.

On October 30th, he performed at the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans. There he p erformed on several songs form Replace as well as from some of his older hits.

Comparatively, Eminem’s “Relapse” album was not able to work well in terms of selling, but still it was a success and it worked in getting critical acclaim. In one way, the album also helped in indicating the re-establishment of Eminem in the hip hop world.

The album was named as one of the top albums of the year 2009. It was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) with an overall sell of more than 5 million worldwide.

Another big announcement by Eminem came on November 19, 2009 and it was the release of “Relapse: Refill” on December 21. According to the statement given by Eminem, the album was a re-release of the Relapse album with seven bonus tracks, including “Forever” and “Taking My Ball”.

According to Eminem, his main intention behind the working on “Relapse: Refill”, was just to tide the fans over until the release of “Relapse 2”, which was supposed to hit in the next year (i.e 2010).

The new tracks started to sound very different than the tracks he originally intended to be on “Relapse 2”, but he still wanted the other stuff to be heard.
