Procedure:

Warm – up: 7' How many can I say in one minute.
Aim: to help the students switch their mind to English and focus on the target vocabulary, another purpose is also that of releasing stress.
Intelligences addressed: linguistic, intrapersonal
Active learning: Dialogue with self. Experience of doing. Observing when others speak.
One student is timed whil e s/he say as many fruit and vegetables he remembers.

Revision of the poem using Reader's Theatre: 25'
Intelligences addressed: intrapersonal, linguistic, visual, interpersonal
Active learning: Dialogue with self. Experience of doing. Observing when others speak.
The teacher divides the class into groups of five who are invited in font of the class to sit down on chairs and to act the poem using the technique of Reader's Theatre. They are timed.

Said the cherry

"Why me?"
Said the pea.

" ‘Cause you're sweet"
Said the beet.

"Say you will"
Said the dill.

"Think it over"
Said the clover.

"Don't rush"
Said the squash.

"Here's your dress"
Said the cress.

"And your cape"
Said the grape.

"Trimmed with fur"
Said the burr.

"Won't that tickle"
Said the pickle.

"Who knows"

Consolidation: A domino game 10'

Active learning: Dialogue with self, others. Experince of doing.
Aim: The T gives each student a pair of words (fruit, vegetable, plant) from the poem. Each S must utter a sentence of the type: I have got a word 1, I want word 2. The S who has his first word the word mentioned as word 2 goes on saying I have got a word 2, I want word 3. And so on.

Homework: 5'
1. The Ss are given handouts with the following crossword puzzle to solve: They are given fruit and vegetables and plants from the poem

2. The Ss are asked to write a dictionary using all the words they know related to food words in English.
e.g. A: apple, apricot, aubergine,
