Enrique Iglesias's Quizas and 7

Q:   Ask a Question about Enrique Iglesias's Quizas and 7
In 2002, Enrique Iglesias released a Spanish-language album named “Quizas”, which proved to be better than his previous Spanish albums and it contains more introverted songs, the title song reflected his relationship with his father.

The album got placed at 12th position on Billboard 200 album chart in the beginning itself. It became the fastest selling album in Spanish in 5 years. The three singles that emerged from the album got the place in Latin chart. Especially his last single “Para Que la Vida” began to be played on U.S. radio repeatedly.

The video of “Quizas” became equally well and it became the first Spanish language music video to be added on “Total Request Live”, one of the MTV’s popular shows.

He performed the song on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and simultaneously also gave chances to some great legends of that time, such as Ricky Martin, Juanes and Jorge Drexler, to perform their Spanish material. He added few songs of Quizas in his “Don’t Turn off the Lights Tour”, which helped him grab Latin Grammy award for Best Pop Vocal Album. Iglesias currently holds the record for the most number one singles on Billboard’s Latin Chart.

In 2003, Iglesias released his seventh album “7” and it was based on 1980s inspired material. It featured song “Roamer” with the lyrics written by him, his friend and guitarist Tony Bruno.

It also featured “Be Yourself”, a song relating to freedom. “Be yourself” was all about how Iglesias’s parents didn’t believe that he would never succeed in the field of singing.

The single “Addicted” featured Kelis and was a remix of the song “Not in Love”.

After the release of this album, Iglesias went for the world tour, which was organized on a large scale to date. This tour started with twelve shows in US and ended at Houston Rodeo.

It covered several countries, which he never visited previously for such kind of shows, such as Australia, India, Egypt and Singapore before ending his tour in South Africa.

Hence, “Quizas” and “7” both helped Iglesias in achieving more fame.
