The dream of any child all over the world is to have a pet, whether it is a dog, a cat or a parrot. Children die for animals which they come to consider their best friends and would do anything to convince their parents to buy them one as they consider themselves to be capable of taking care of them. Even if we all know that children never have time to take the dog out or they forget to feed the parrot, parents usually accept the compromise on the condition that it doesn’t mess the house.

There are no problems when the family lives in a big house with a backyard where the pet has all the space it need just for itself. On the contrary if you live in a flat, is there sufficient space for the pet not to feel trapped like in a cage? There should not be a problem if y ou have bird as they don’t need much space and they are accustomed to living in small places. But what do you do if your child only wants a dog? 90% of the children want a dog and usually a big one so where to keep it? In the balcony?

Children can be very persuasive and they can make their parents buy them everything that crosses their minds but parents, who ought to be more responsible and should also think at the pet, must take the right decision and think at how to make the pet feel at its ease in its new home.

If your pet doesn’t have enough space to play, it is not taken out for walks, you forget about it, then he will feel unloved and the sadness can even kill him. If you know your children can be very superficial and absent minded and a little bit selfish, then it is better to leave them get upset and not to buy them the per they want.

In the cases when the children are a little bit introvert and don’t socialize too much a pet might help them span their universe and look around more. Especially dogs can turn into best friends and can make very happy the girl or the boy who owns it.
