Gates patents to protect his profit and not public

Q:   Ask a Question about Gates patents to protect his profit and not public
Bill Gates the founder of the software industry giant Microsoft is a smart man who has done a great deal of good in the world since he took over the world with his Windows and so when we catch such a person blatantly lying this matters a lot to all of us.

When he called the people opposing American intellectual property law a "communist" move he was encouraging a mistake that could impoverish the entire world.

To start with the good bit of his argument, it is true as Mr. Gates says that intellectual property matters and copyright benefits the whole of society, and needs to be enforced, thus bringing in lot of change.

The market right now is a very efficient way of producing good software, and if it is to work then the rules should be enforced and copyrighted software protected n ot just by law, but by active policing also.

Copying without permission seems like a faceless crime; but in the long run it is a crime of which we are all going to be victims. He said that amongst the economies of the world, there is more number of countries that believe in intellectual property today than ever. There are fewer communists in the world today than there were.

Mr. Gates added that there are some new modern communists who want to get rid of the incentive for musicians and moviemakers and software makers under various disguises, they don't think that those incentives should exist.

According to Mr. Gates copyrighting allows people to benefit from their labors, but software patents allow the companies with the largest legal departments to benefit from everyone else's work.

Right now, all this stops at the borders of Europe. A venture was made to allow software patenting within the European Union, but this was halted by a Polish veto.

This shows that a post-communist like Poland country understands the demands and needs of market driven with capitalism better than the world's richest capitalist.

Software will be protected not just by copyright, but by patents. Copyright makes possible a proper market in intangible goods, which means more of them will be produced, which means we all will benefit.
