Q:   Ask a Question about GLENN DOWN WITH INJURY
Australian pace spearhead, Glenn Mc Grath is facing an injury problem and is struggling to prove his fitness ahead of the second test of the ashes series. The pigeon, as he is lovingly called, suffered from an injury in the knee while playing the 1st test but is failing to recover from his troublesome left knee which has been meddling him from quite a while.

Australia's ace fast bowler, who dismissed six batsmen giving 50 runs in the first innings at Brisbane and help Australia secure a 277-run win, has been suffering from blisters took pain-killing medication to get through the previous Test and was expected to be completely fit for practice at the Adelaide Oval.

But instead of bowling his usual spell in the nets, McGrath couldn't give his full and faced a late fitness test next mo rning before Australia named their final line-up.

The Australian captain Ricky Pointing said that there would be no Glenn McGrath in the team unless he was 100% fit and cleared to play the game. He also said that the team was performing well and had other performers who could replace him so that was not a worry if he had to miss a match.

Being the world champions the team hasn't much to worry and testing the bench strength shall be a good idea especially when the time is nearing for the retirement of Glenn McGrath.

Obviously, not having Glenn in one's team would be a huge setback for the Australians who are banking on the home advantage as well as the seamer to help them sail through the Ashes and get the urn in their cupboard.

He did prove it in the first test when he took six wickets for fifty runs helping the Aussie bandwagon seal a 277 run victory over England.

Should McGrath fail to recover, Australia will choose between fast bowler Shaun Tait on his home ground or the uncapped but talented left-arm seamer Mitchell Johnson.

But all that shall come in picture if and only if Glenn Mc Grath fails to recover for the test match.
