Hilton- The singer, the author

Q:   Ask a Question about Hilton- The singer, the author
Alongside her glamorous modeling and acting career Paris Hilton decided to take a plunge into a different sphere all together, something which she hadn’t explored yet and that is music.

In 2004, she inaugurated ‘Heiress Records” which was a sub label of Warner Bros. Records. On 22nd august 2006, Hilton released her first ever music album. Her debut album was titled “Paris” and was released under the label of her very own “Heiress Records”.

The sales of her first album were low even though it had managed to reach the number six spot in “Billboard 200” for a week.

Nonetheless her first single “Stars are blind” was in the top ten chartbusters in a whopping 17 countries and she also got critical acclaim from many critics. Paris Hilton has given her voice in the rock musical “Repo! T he Genetic Opera” and the director of the movie Darren Lynn Bousman is all praise for her singing skills.

On 16th July 2007, Hilton said that she was working on a new album which would be a dance album. This album would be produced by Scott Storch and Hilton even got a professional studio installed at her home to work for the album.

Hilton premiered the first song “My BFF” on 30th September, 2008 and the second song, “Paris for President”, was released in October 2008. She had shown intentions to release the second album also under her own label.

In 2004, Paris Hilton released an autobiographical book which was co-written by Merle Ginsberg. The book was titled “Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Behind the Pose” which included her advice on life and coloured photographs of Hilton herself. It has been reported that she received 100,000 dollars as advance payment for this book.

Some critics criticized the book as amateurish but the book also became New York Times bestseller. Hilton also released a designer diary with Merle Ginsberg called “Your Heiress Diary: Confess It All To Me”.

Paris Hilton once quoted “Dress cute wherever you go, life is too short to blend in”. This quote was later added to The Oxford Dictionary Of Quotations in September 2009.
