I lay in bed warm and comfortable listening to the rain beating against windows… when I heard a strange noise behind the door of my bedroom. I had stood up all night writing for my latest novel and I was close to dead tired. At first, I thought it was just a delusion of my mind, given the state I found myself in.

The even stranger thing is that I could also hear a humming coming from that direction. It was some kind of song I didn’t quite distinguish because of the rain in my windows! Suddenly, the door handle moved…I was terrified. The terror got even greater as the door slowly opened and a young woman entered the room.
I was numb with shock, when the strange appearance looking so angelic and kind came up to the side of my bed. She was wearing a dress fr om the 18th century and the lace made it seem more beautiful. Where did I see her again? The face and the hair were so familiar, that the fear and terror disappeared at once.

As I looked closely, I was surprised to recognize the round blue eyes and the long curly hair I had used to describe the main female character in my novel. Yes, it was really her! I could not believe my eyes…was it a dream or was it a real thing? No later than I finished my thought, the woman said: “Thank you!” and rushed back to the door. I was astounded. Why would she thank me for? Could it be because I had reunited her and her lost lover? This should be it, I said to myself, silently thanking her for being happy with my plot. I have often hesitated about making my novel a happy ending one and this was all I needed in order to be sure I had made the right decision.

When I glanced at the door, there was no sign of her appearance. I could swear it has happened for real…but what if I was just dreaming? The rain was still beating against the windows of my bedroom, but the night was slowly starting to fade away…
