The fifth sign of the zodiac, represented by the lion and ruled by the Sun. Mythology :

Relating to Hercules first labor of the Twelve Labors, Hercules was sent to obtain the skin of a mighty lion from the land of Argolis. The lion was claimed to be the offspring of Zeus and Selene (Goddess of the Moon), w hich fell from the moon to earth. Hercules realized the impotence of his arrows and entrapped the lion in a cave, where he wrestled the lion with his bare hands, eventually choking the lion. It is said that Zeus hung the lion’s likeness in the night sky, and despite its ferocious look, the lion is portrayed as a loving father to his cubs and protector of his lioness.

Leo governs the heart, upper back, spine and wrists – thereby causing ailments such as back pain, cardiac disease and related disorders.

The Leo typically dislikes ordinary day to day living, small minded people and playing on the safe side. Whilst enjoyment is derived from children, drama and speculative ventures.

Positive traits of the Leo include generous, enthusiastic, broadminded, loving and faithful. Negative traits: Pompous, bossy, intolerant, interfering and dogmatic.
