- T. asks the Ss. what could the title of the lesson ‘Matters of the heart' refer to
- T shows Ss three different pictures showing a heart and asks Ss to choose the proper one for the lesson

- T. encourages the Ss to discuss about the play
- T. asks Ss their opinion regarding the play
- T. writes the title of the new lesson on the blackboard and provides the translation for it

Aim 3: to verify the degree of understanding of the text
- T asks Ss if they believe that the title of the text refers to the main character in Shakespeare's play
- T. asks Ss to read the text in the book at page 62
- T writes on the Bb the new vocabulary and provides the Romanian equivalents for it
- T asks Ss to write the new vocabulary in their notebooks
- T asks Ss to solve exercise 2, page 62 in their book so as to check the degree of understanding of the text – Ss have to choose the right alternative to complete some sentences

Aim 4: to learn and practice First and Second Conditional
- T asks Ss to remember about the Zero Conditional
- T then tells Ss they are going to learn about the First and Second Conditional
- T presents the First and Second conditional and their uses and provides the proper examples e.g. If you give me the money, I'll buy the book. (probable situation - almost a certain consequence) If she liked his book, she would read it. (the situation and its consequences are imaginary)
- T divides Ss into teams
- T walks around the classroom and asks each team to choose some handouts and using the words given there to formulate answers using the First or Second Conditional e.g. What would you do if you won the lottery? Possible answer: I would travel around the world.
- The team with the most correct answers wins the game.
Homework: T asks Ss to write conditional sentences using the cues in exercise 5 page 63 in their books – 2'
