Aids: pictures, worksheets, blackboard, tape

Assumptions: There may be difficulties in making differences between the use of present simple and present continuous

Stages/Timing: Warm-up 4' - Checking homework 5' - Presen tation of the new grammar context 8' - Initial practice 10' - Cheer-up 5' - Secondary
Practice 10'

Activities: The teacher greets the students, talks with them and gets them ready for the class - The students had to prepare an exercise using present simple tense - The teacher writes on the board: "I am drinking some milk now." "I always drink milk in the morning." Underlines and discusses the tenses. - Brainstorm their ideas about what they usually do and what they are doing at the moment. - The teacher asks Ss to find further example in the dialogue. In groups of three, Ss read the dialogue aloud. Then with books closed Ss try to reproduce the first part of the dialogue from memory. The teacher encourages them to use gestures and facial expressions for. - Let's sing a song!
