London is the capital of England and of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and North Ireland. Great Britain is formed by three countries: England, Scotland and Wales. The administrative division which composes London and its surroundings is called "Big London" and is divided in "City of London" and 32 "Londoners Burgs".

Westminster Palace is the siege of the British Parliament, formed by the House of Commons and the House of Lords and the Tower with a watch call the Big Ben, the symbol of London.

In the 11th century here a royal residence was built, destroyed almost entirely by a fire in 1834. The new buildings of the palace were built between 1837 and 1860 in Neo-Gothic style.

Buckingham Palace has been the royal house for the British Kings from 1837, whe n queen Victoria chose to move from Kensington Palace. Buckingham Palace was built by King George III rd. It has 52 bedrooms, 92 desks, 78 bathrooms, 188 rooms for the servants and 19 festivity halls. The festivity halls are opened for the public in August and September.

The changing of the guard takes place daily at 11.30 and it represents a show you can't miss as a tourist in London.

Windsor Castle, one of the residences of Queen Elizabeth is a witness of the English history from the last millennium. Every monarch brought his own contribution to the castle’s architecture, which shelters famous pieces of art, belonging to Leonardo da Vinci or Rubens.

"The House of Dolls" is also very famous. It was built in 1920 for Queen Mary, the wife of George Vth. In the chapel of the castle several monarchs are buried among whom we can mention George V, the father of Queen Elizabeth the Second.

Trafalgar Square reminds everybody of the victory of Admiral Nelson against Napoleon.
