When you see each day how mush the society we live in has evolved you come to wonder why are there still wars going on in some parts of the world? How can it be? Why is that in 2007 there are people who can't work out their problems by some other methods and they choose to kill, destroy, betray?

If we claim that humanity is trying the best it can to preserve the global peace and to help the persons living in poor regions where they don’t even have running water or electricity, why are there wars financed by the greatest powers of the world like the United States or Great Britain?

Going to war has never been an advisable solution but it was the most frequently met solution for all the conflicts all over the world. The one who won had the possibility to impose n ew rules, new conditions, to establish the borders of a country, to diminish or enlarge its territories. But nobody really thought at the thousands of persons wounded on the battlefield or worse who lost their lives, at the families who remained without a brother or a father, about all the unhappiness and the suffering left behind.

This in what concerns the spiritual aspect of the issue. Let's talk now about the material damages produced to buildings, streets, entire towns which simply disappeared from the map.

I am convinced that we smart enough to find some solutions to solve our problems more peacefully but when other interests are at stake the war becomes the perfect solution. You want to make a small county depend on you financially. You make it enter a war with another state, you make it lose and then it is obliged to buy "cheaper" products from you, to sell its internal products to you and so on. It takes time to recover after the war.

Make love not war was the slogan of the hippies movement in the 70s when the war in Vietnam broke out. It has remained the slogan of all the organizations which are fighting against the wars in the 21st century.
