"Nevertheless, when did marriage start to become less and less popular? Is it the divorce rate that scares people off? Or is it the way society has changed in the recent years?"
Yes, yes and yes. The risk of financial ruin (downside) far exceeds the advantages--I'm unclear about ANY advantage to marriage.

Marriage is between a man and a woman. Jehovah never intended for gays to marry. That is abominable. Marriage is sacred and re-marriage is adultry! Read luke 16:18 in your bible! |

This institution is outdated and the government has no buisness being involved in the marriage industry anyhow. If people need to be legally bound for tax purposes then simply change the name to a civil union and allow any and all citizens of this country to pariticipate if they so choose irregardless of their sexual orientation. marriage on the other had is a religious concept and should be left completly out of the court system all-together. if people want to be married and also enjoy the legal perks of a civil union then they should have to get married on their own time and dime which would be completly seperted from making your relationship "legal". What is so hard to understand about this? |
