When you ask a person whether material success brings absolute happiness, the answer depends to a large extent on the financial possibilities of that person and on his standard of living. If he is a person with limited material resources, that doesn't have enough money to do all the things he would like to do, that can't please his children or his wife, that person would surely say that money brings absolute happiness.
From one point of view it is quite true as if you have money you can afford to travel, to buy enerything you have ever dreamt of, to enjoy life to the full. Still, there are things like health, love, friendship, that can't be bought with money, which supports happiness but does not buy it.
This would be the answer of a rich people, who has almos
t everything except for real friends or a nice family, someone to whom share all these wonderful things.
What would be the point of a hotel in Dubai if you are all alone and everynight you go to bed by yourself, even if in silk sheets? What is the use of a holiday in Paris if you walk on Champs Elisees accompanied by your bodyguard? Pathetic but very true.
For me the middle way is the best: not too little and not too much: many friends, lots of fun, love, enjoying live to the maximun, this is the recipe for happiness.
From time to time you can afford to go off on a jaunt for the weekend, and try a little bit the sweet taste of wealth, but it's better to come back to reality and stop dreaming at what you would like to have. Building palaces in Spain makes you forget about what is really important: health, family, friends.
