Peter James Crouch was born on January 30, 1981 in Macclesfield, Cheshire in England. Soon after his birth, the Crouch family moved to London. When Crouch was four, the family again moved to Singapore. They stayed there for one year and returned back to London.

He is an English International Footballer who plays for Tottenham Hotspur. He has the height of 6 ft 7 inches and is the tallest man to play for England national team. He was the tallest outfield player in the Premier League till Stefan Maierhofer signed for Wolves in August 2009.

Peter Crouch began his career as a trainee with Tottenham football club in the year 1998. He has played for five football clubs till now- Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Southampton and Liverpool. He returned to Tottenham in the year 20 09.

After representing England at under-21 level, he was called by Sven Goran Eriksson on 2005 for the first time to join the senior side in the team. He has represented England at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. Crouch was also selected by succeeding England managers Steve McClaren and Fabio Capello.

Peter Crouch was interested in football from an early age. He became a ball boy at the age of ten. He attended few Chelsea games as a child. He was the fan of Queens Park Rangers club in his early age. Crouch attended Drayton Manor High School in Hanwell soon after which he signed an official contract with Tottenham Hotspurs in 1998.

However, he did not make any appearances for their first team and was loaned out to other clubs. Before he signed the contract, he used to play for the youth side of the same club.

Crouch was capped for the England Under-20 team at the 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship. He was later a part of David Plattís England Under-21 team in European Under-21 Championship which went to the finals and where Crouch scored once.

He got his first breakthrough in May 2005 for playing for England, the teamís tour of the United States and debut for Crouch playing against Columbia.
