For most children the most frequent way of spending their time is playing a game. It doesn’t matter what game is about. They are all funny and they entertain a lot. Things become better when you need a partner to play with as the spirit of competition appears and you get to focus your attention only in winning. On one hand it is quite constructive for the development of the child’s personality to be eager to win and to come up with the best solutions to achieve this goal. On the other hand if a child becomes too concerned only with winning then for him playing a game is funny only when he wins. Otherwise if he finds a better opponent he gets disappointed and upset and he doesn’t want to go on playing.
It is quite compulsory for parents to make their children real
ize that you can’t always win and there are many unpleasant moments in life when you simply have to learn how to lose. These games are only metaphors when it comes to dealing with real issues of life. How you play-fair or based on cheating- tells exactly how you will deal with your future problems.
The idea is to compete, to prove you are good and not only to win. Maybe you have a bad day and all things turn bad that day. It is not a general rule always to win. There are moments when you lose and then your ambition makes you want to prove the rest how good you really are and next time you will surely play better and you will win.
Still, there should be made a distinction between fun and playing games just for entertainment and real situations which you may face daily. Comparisons and associations should be made to help children understand better what the future holds for them/ They must get to see that life is made only of happy moments, that there are days when you feel you are the unluckiest man alive. You have to look at the bright side of things and to try to come out of these situations.
In conclusion, playing a game is not funny only when you win. It is funny if you enjoy it, if you also like your company, if you focus and try your best to win. If you are just a little bit unlucky don't worry too much. You will surely prove your abilities some other day.
