Josh Lewsey is a professional Rugby Union player and was formerly an Army Officer. Native Bromely in Kent, Josh Lewsey was born on 30th November 1976. He was brought up in Watford in Hertfordshire.

He completed his schooling from Watford Boys Grammar School. He firstly played for Amersham and Chiltern Rugby Football Club. At age of eighteen, he joined Wasps. He was under-21 captain.

Then he joined Bristol University and played for the university. After that he rejoined Wasps at the age of 21 after completing his studies. During his tour to Australia, namely ‘Tour of Hell’, he won first England Cap in 1998. He is also known as OJ.

Before playing rugby professionally, he was an officer in British Army for two years. During this time, he was with Royal Artillery. He graduated fro m the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2001.

After an injury to Jason Robinson, he got first chance for his home team England in the Six Nations Championship in 2003. He scored two goals in a win over Italy.

He was a player of Grand Slam winning side. He was a key player of England side in winning of the Hong Kong Sevens in 2002. He was an important player in the tests against New Zealand and Australia in the June 2003 Southern-hemisphere tour.

In the 2003 World Cup, he scored five tries against Uruguay. England defeated Uruguay by 111-13 in world championship final. In 2004, after scoring a try in both games, against Italy and Scotland, he was named Man of the Match.

He played Fullback, Wing, and Center for Wasps. He helped Wasps win in many series and the best was his effort to help Wasps win their second Middlesex 7s since 1993. Wasps won this match at the Guinness Premiership Cup in 2007/08.

People were excited for his return in the England team in the Rugby World Cup in 2007 but he disappointed everyone by his performance. This legendry player retired from Rugby on 5th April 2009. He also spends time on beaches playing with his pet dogs.
