Attention! Cocaine is an incentive drug which leads to dependence and which has a direct effect on the brain. It is extremely dangerous to human's body! It is a product obtained from leaves of the vegetable of coca, which can be found generally in South America, especially in Peru and Bolivia. In this area the inhabitants use to chew these leaves in order to diminish tiredness and to leave apart for a short time the sensation of hunger and thirst.
At the beginning of the 20th century, cocaine became the most used component in several drinks and cordials prepared to cure different diseases.
How does this dangerous cocaine look like? On the drug market, cocaine is sold in two distinct ways: as hydrochloride salt which is cocaine as fine crysta
l powder, with a bitter taste and which emanates a slightly smell of gasoline. In this form cocaine can be swallowed by nose, chewed, smoked, injected or rubbed by the mucous membrane. The second form is the crack, which is obtanined by chymical processing. It has the appearance of some semi-transparent crystals, of a white and yellow colour. The consumers boil these crystals in some containers and inhale the steams. Crack cocaine can be smoked, but it can also be consumed in a mixture with heroine, forming a speedball.
The mental effects appear soon after inhaling and disappear 20-30 minutes aferwards. The consumer feels happiness and a higher state of energy, he becomes talkative, adopts attitudes of superiority, he’s very nimble mentally and presents temporally a low eyesight, sound and light. Cocaine can diminish the appetite of eating and the need for sleeping.
The physical effects that appear are very dangerous and can be the following: the disorder of the cardiac rhythm, the higher temperature of the body, the dilation of the eye balls.
There are also some dangerous effects on a longer term: phychical addiction, depression and crises of anxiety, irritating behaviour and changing mood, unrest, paranoia, hallucinations, the perforation of the nasal system, the loosing in weight because of the anorexy.
The overdosis appears at almost 60-90 minutes after the administration. Its dangerous manifestations are euphoria, the sensation of power and stateliness, excitement, repeated behaviours and gestures, nauseas and vomiting, convulsions or heart cases.
The conclusion is that cocaine as well as the other drugs destroy a consumer both physically and mentally. Drugs is one of the major problems of this century because the majority of consumers are teenagers who feel great curiosity about drugs and want to try once to smoke. But the problem is that they enjoy the sensation and repeat the experience more times till they can become addicted to drugs. Even if they know some of the negative effects of drugs consumers don’t take into consideration this fact and they can put in danger their lives.
