It is known that sometimes mothers are not always a good example for their children because they don't know how to behave with them from different reasons. Then, fathers can be the favourite parent because they are able to carry out their children’s wishes and are next to them each time their offspring needs support. After a divorce it is difficult to establish who is going to get the custody of children and it is more complicated when a couple has only one child.
Law considers that after a divorce mothers have the right to get the custody of the children. Anyway, this can not be a correct decision because being mother and not father doesn’t mean that the woman is more able to give her offspring a better education than a man can do. That is why children have to be
asked whom they prefer to take care of them, because there are cases when a child wants to grow next to his father and not his mother.
From here we can understand that a father can be able to raise his child or children, because he can have the necessary material support, he doesn't have psychological problems, he has enough spare time to spend with his children, he understands them and, therefore, he can be a mother, too, for his children. On the other hand, there are mothers who behave badly and violently with their children. These are abused and can develop some traumas if they grow up next to their mothers who are not able to accept their child’s behaviours, who always want to be pleased or enjoy to impose their children different things, like coming back home at a certain hour, not wear a certain type of clothes, even if their offspring has twenty years.
In conclusion, after a divorce, it is better for a social worker to investigate the family's situation, each parent’s psychological problems, if any, and leave the child or children with the parent who is the most suitable to offer his or her child a proper education and a convenient environment to live in
