Q:   Ask a Question about Super sniffer
Super sniffer The human sense of smell is very poor compared to that of animals such as dogs. Some dogs are able to identify and follow the smell of a person's perspiration, even though it may be several days old.

These so-called sniffer dogs are often used to find people buried beneath an avalanche or in houses destroyed in earthquakes. They can identify just a few molecules of human perspiration.

Vultures can smell a decaying body from several kilometres away. Even the human nose can detect tiny amounts of some substances.

One of the smelliest substances known is called mercaptan, and humans can detect a single molecule of it. Scientific tests have shown that mothers can identify the smell of their own baby.
