The Next Innovation in Transportation

Q:   Ask a Question about The Next Innovation in Transportation
The Next Innovation in Transportation With today's fast growing economies in developing countries the necessity to conserve fossil fuels and thus, the need for a smart, efficient transportation method is an imminent, irrefutable problem. Global market crises are emerging as oil prices hike; money is being fuelled into research for alternative transportations with little effect occurring to implement the expensive undertakings; hydrogen fuel celled cars are entering the markets at prices far too great for the average car owner. In light of these major problems, German car designers have introduced a unique solution - the Loremo.

Loremo stands for low resistance mobile, and is a car that implements the use of basic ideas such as low weight, engine efficiency, and minimal drag in order to generate a car that is fuel efficient of 55 to 64 kilometres per litre. The car expands on its low resistance mobile idea by being built around a 2-cylinder turbo diesel engine, while cutting back on weight, drag, and other excess fat such as side-opening doors. All the better, the Loremo is environmentally friendly as it releases a meagre 50 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometre, which is about 40 grams less than the tiny diesel smart. Thus, this environmentally friendly feature of the Loremo has its creators convinced that it will become the most efficient production car ever sold.

Although the Loremo does release carbon dioxide and is not as eco friendly as the hydrogen fuel celled car, it's pricing remains far more economically friendly to the mass majority of the working class. Its price which is around $22, 000 US, beats the hydrogen fuel cell by a competitive $78, 000 US.

In 2009, the Loremo was released in Europe, and is to be redesigned to reach the North American market in 2010. In addition, a $30,000 US, 3-cylinder GT model will also become available, contributing to better acceleration. The hybrid and fully electrical versions are underway, and will heighten the Loremo's global impact.

With the Loremo gaining popularity, and much recognition for its outside-the-box thinking approach, it is only a matter of time before it is all the rage around the globe, helping to curb the world's biggest global problem - oil.
