We all make mistakes: everyday we realize we have hurt a friend with our behavior or with our comments or we have lied our parents or our teachers, making up all sort of stupid excuses to justify our actions. It really doesn't matter whether we talk about "innocent" little lies, they do count and they hurt the persons when they find out about them.
When there appear more serious things like cheating on your wife or leaving her and your family for another woman the situation changes and in most cases the persons who suffer don’t have the sufficient strength to get over everything and they suffer more as they also lose the persons they love so much.
When someone finds out what her partner has been doing to her and she has the courage and risks everything by gran
ting him a second chance, this gesture can be called divine. Only Jesus forgave all those who condemned Him and made Him suffer on the cross and said: "Forgive them Lord, as they don't know what they are doing".
Most of us make mistakes, but only a few have the strength to forgive. When we think at doing something we should always put ourselves in the other’s shoes and see how he feels or how he thinks and then draw the conclusions.
We can't al least try to forgive if we haven't been put in the situation of having made a mistake and having to crave for the other's forgiveness. If you have been in both situations to forgive is much easier as you know how much you have been praying for the other to forget and forgive. When you get the second chance you feel the happiest man alive.
If you manage to pass over everything and put behind you all the bad things the relationship becomes stronger and it will definitely survive time, routine and temptation.
