They don't care what ever the price of gas is or what technologies are being introduced to reduce the emissions from petrol engines. They just race.

But the things appear to be changing nowadays and the change is from the East. Toyota has come up with a change. They've transformed their ultimate racing machine into a hybrid which improves fuel efficiency and drives in more power to the car. The car is a 473 horsepower, V8 engine; Toyota Supra HV-R. It has undergone this make over. This car is being derived from Supra GT race car which was very successful in Japanese Super GT Racing. Moreover Supra is installed with all wheel drive with a small motor in front wheel and one in rear axle which generates power from braking. The power generated is not used in rechargeable cells as traditionally it used to be collected. Instead a large capacitor is used which quickens the charging and discharge cycles. These electrical motors add another 227 horse powers to the car giving Supra the whooping total muscle of 700 bhp but the weight is kept ultra low to only 2376 pounds. This makes this machine an ultimate racing machine. When this car enters the track it is bound to creates wonders.

Recently certain car manufacturers have also gathered a lot of attention using non-traditional racing power sources, like Audi's success of diesel version of R8. But that hasn't doomed the spirits of Toyota. Hybrids on race track are still something new and good to watch. Toyota has proved itself.

Toyota also has another project under the hybrids ready to get tested. The Toyota Prius is ready to get on the roads. These two hybrids from Toyota will provide a lot of information about Toyota's stand in the hybrid market. Also Toyota will get a lot of data from them which will help them make their hybrids faster, more powerful and more fuel efficient.
