Walking Through Prague

Walking Through Pragueby Herminne Tonita -

Narrow streets, museums at every step on the way downtown, famous clothes brands, Swarovski crystals, coffee shops and fancy restaurants. Put on your favorite snickers and meet Prague.

So as to feel better the flavor of this capital it is advisable to meet it walking. From Wenceslav Plaza until you reach Prague Castle, which is situated in the opposite side of the town you only have to walk 25 minutes. But, once you have stepped in Wenceslav Plaza it will take your time before leaving it, because you are in the most important shopping area in Prague where the international brands are competing for supremacy in local shops. Even if Prague doesn’t surpass London, New York or Paris in what concerns shopping, you will find enough temptations which will diminish consi derably your bank account. When you get tired of all that rambling through all the shops, enter for a few minutes in one of the restaurants or coffee shops which appear at the corner of every street.

From the center of the town you can get to any of the attractions of the town. To start with, you could always walk on Charles Bridge, which unites the two shores of Vltava River and you will set on a journey 600-700 years ago. Carol Bridge is one of the first stone bridges in Europe and it impresses through its bohemian style.

In the last centuries around the Old Town there have been built Gothic Palaces which remind everybody of the stories about rich merchants and ancient intrigues among aristocracy. Here is also the place where you find the best souvenirs, Bohemian crystals, jewelries. Some of them are unique but their prices are also alike.

If you haven’t had lunch in one of the restaurants of the town find out that Flambee is the most attracting location in Prague.

Famous designers have created a unique combination between the historic place and the modern design. If you still have energy left the night life in Prague is pretty exciting. Have fun in one of the clubs or bars from the center of the town. As far as the way back to the hotel is concerned don’t worry. The tube runs all night long.

Today Prague Castle serves as a residence for the President of the Republic and is guarded by shifts that change every day. Visit it at lunch when the ceremony of the changing of the guards is not accompanied by the sounds of the drums.
