These great worlds were from the 35th President of United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Native Brookline, Kennedy was born on Tuesday May 29, 1917.

He studied in Brookline’s public Edward Devotion School. After that he moved to the Dexter School, Lower School. During this period, he was the first president of the Boy Scout. He entered as a freshman at Harvard College in September in 1936. Kennedy finished his thesis, “Appeasement in Munich”.

Due to his back problem, he was rejected from the U.S. Army. He volunteered for the U.S. Navy.

He was selected as Commander Officer of Motor Torpedo Boat 109. Kennedy swam many hours to secure food in an accident. He did task without hesitation and bravely. He saved many lives in the United States Naval Services.

After World War II, Kennedy had initially decided to become a journalist. After elder brother was killed in World War II, his father pinned his political hopes on John. John was a democrat. John Kennedy was elected with overwhelming majority for mayor of Bostonin in 1946. He had a mixed voting record as a congressman for six years.

He won against Republican Henry Cabot Lodge Jr. for the U.S. Senate in 1952. The 1956 presidential election had given him national expose, which was proved valuable in subsequent years, though he was defeated in election for the Vice President.

Kennedy officially announced his aim to run for the President of the United States on January 2, 1960. In the Democratic primary election, he defeated Senator Hubert Humphrey of Minnesota and Senator Wayne Morse of Oregon. There was no more major opponen

His debates with Republican candidate and Vice President Richard Nixon were aired in September and October. On Tuesday, November 8, John F. Kennedy defeated Richard Nixon with minor majority.

He got 303 votes against Nixon’s 219. In his Inaugural Speech he said the memorable words: “Ask not what your country can do for you--ask what you can do for your country.”
