Ways to travel to the Airport while in UK

Q:   Ask a Question about Ways to travel to the Airport while in UK
Ways to travel to the Airport while in UK While vacationing in UK there are several options for travelling to the airport, from taking public modes of transport to private.

Cars, cabs, buses, trains etc are some of the modes of transport. There are a lot of criteria for choosing the mode of transport.

The first and the foremost criterion is that of cost.UK has 3 airports; Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester. Cheapest way is having a family member or a friend drop you at the airport.

This is convenient plus economical and very comfortable as they would drop you right at the airport so it gets easier with the baggage. Also, if it isn't long distance it is better to travel by taxi or a bus as airport parking could cost a lot.

The next main aspect is the distance for airport from the place you have put up at. If the distanc e is much more then taking a mini bus or a cab isn't advisable as it can drop you only to a certain place from which you have to find something and with the amount of baggage it becomes impossible.

Also, a friend dropping you is possible but this sometimes may be even longer than the flight in matters of time it would take.

In such situations taking a train or a bus is a better option esp. a train as it would not have issues with traffic. Till the bus or train station you will need to be taken by a friend.

And you will need to make at least one transfer at London or Manchester to reach these airports as the local trains do not have a direct stop at these places.

The disadvantage is while going from airport to the train's station if it is early in the morning as you will have to look for the connections of trains plus might have to wait for the first train to ply if it is too early.

In such cases it is better that a family member picks you up which eases the journey. If cost isn't an issue, car is the best option.

Thus, for shorter journeys when arrival and departure time is fixed taking a bus or train is better and for longer journeys taking you own car is good.
