Why do Children Refuse to Learn Well?

Why do Children Refuse to Learn Well? by Herminne Tonita -

Parents and teachers blame each other. Children are not stimulated sufficiently.

Mathematics seems to be the subject which bothers the pupils the most but at the same time literature classes are almost a catastrophe. The studies reveal worrying results.

A 45 years old woman, Manuela has 4 children. "Taking care of them is the hardest job in this world and it fills up all my time." The elder want to be independent but I have to take the little one to school myself. Being a mother who dedicates all her time and energy to the rising and the education of his children she notices that all children lack interest in taking care of the daily school activities.

She became interested in this aspect of the children's education and she began to get information about th is topic. "We need a generation of young teachers who could bring new interesting teaching methods". Children must come to classes looking forward to finding out new things because they now claim they are getting bored during the classes.

As a consequence many children skip classes as there are teachers who do the same or came late at school. They do not realize that what they are doing is not good for them but at the moment they are not interested in any kind of activity connected to school.

Teachers must represent a role model for pupils. They have to show interest and to love their job. Children realize when a teacher lacks the necessary calling for this job. There are teachers who come to school only to get their salary and they don't care much about what is going on with their pupils.

There is also the discussion about the methods used in classes: too much theory and less practical classes. When they spend hours and hours only listening to explanations they do not understand or only writing full pages they lose their interest. Classes should be captivating and should make pupils want to take active part at these activities.

A better communication and cooperation between parents and teachers is the solution. Pupils must be encouraged to have the courage to express what they feel, to state their opinions, to prove they are really responsible for their actions.
