A guide to safe flying - What to do and what not to do while flying

Q:   Ask a Question about A guide to safe flying - What to do and what not to do while flying
A guide to safe flying - What to do and what not to do while flying We hear a lot about the traffic jams on the road and often get news about how two trains crashed into each other because of some or the other reason but we hardly hear about two planes crashing into each other or a traffic jam on air.

Flying is one of the safest modes of transportation. But there are a lot of incidents that might ruin the fun of flying. So five very important things should be known to all prior to flying and the safety measures one can take.

The first is when the plane is hijacked. This is when the plane is taken over by some gunmen wanting to take whoever is in their way as a hostage. They not only harm passengers if their demands are not met but also take the plane's control. In these situations it is advisable to keep your calm and avoid movements to avoid being targeted.

Another casualty is turbulence. This can be the worst experience for people flying for the first time.

Turbulence is caused by sudden gust of wind or irregular motion of the air. The main thing is you should always have seat belt on so to avoid head dashing on the ceiling while plane goes up and down.

The 3rd on our list is very severe, crash landing. What would happen if the pilot announces to fasten seat belts as the plane is going to land on water because one of the engines has failed? Scary, isn't it?

The only solution is to follow all the instructions given by the cabin crew and to have faith on the pilot as they are well trained for these crunch situations.

The 4th on our list is catching an airborne disease. While travelling everyone is closed in a small place so there are more chances of catching some diseases. Before travelling, check with WHO against travelling to certain places.

In worst cases, make sure you have a mask that would protect against viruses.

The 5th on the list can be missing on the control by a pilot. There are auto pilots in the planes so the plane corrects the errors caused by the pilots, still it is important to stay calm.

Following these might make flying a pleasant experience in the worst situations.
